Day one of racing ended with 60 soggy competitors and one clear leader. Team Moxie scored two bullets against a deep fleet. Race one began with 20 boats being called over early and a big shift separating the fleet. Race two was even shiftier according to reports, but the same result.

Dear Fleet 1 J70 Sailors,
Our annual meeting held Jan 4th at the AYC Jr sailing building saw a large turn out of owners and crew. A special thank you goes out to Ray and Jen Wulff as well as Walt and Tricia Pletcher for bringing the coffee and donuts. Thanks guys!
The meeting began with a welcome and an around the room introduction of each attendee. It was great to see some new faces and new fleet members. Also there was a review of last year and a thank you to all the volunteers who made the North Americans such a huge success.
Nomination and election of new Fleet officers was amazingly quick with a full slate of new folks being elected to positions to help our fleet grow and run smoothly throughout this next year.
Ray presented the proposed 2014 schedule. The schedule was discussed and approved. It will be posted next week after the Bay wide scheduling meeting Jan 11th. Our Fleet Championship will consist of 8 events of which you will need to do 6 to qualify for the Fleet Championship…more on this later from Todd on how it will all be scored.
Will K made a motion the reduce the fleet dues from 100.00 to match the National Class dues at 75.00. This was seconded and accepted.
Will K presented and accounting of the treasury which Pete McChesney will assume.
Ned Jones from JBoats was in town and did a informative presentation on the National Class weighing of boats and how it will take place. We will have a fleet weigh-in weekend which will be announced next week also after the scheduling meeting.
The meeting ended with an excited bunch of sailors looking forward to warmer weather and some great sailing and fleet fun this season.
Best to all,
